Getting Active Again After a Long Break
You remember what you used to manage, and the first attempt back feels discouraging. It is tempting to catch up in one week. Your current starting point deserves more attention than your old personal best.
Begin with a smaller session
Choose an activity and duration that feel realistic now, then build gradually. Allow recovery rather than treating soreness as proof of effort. If illness, injury or a medical condition caused the break, ask your clinician about returning safely.
Make progress easy to notice
Look at consistency and how the activity fits your week. You can adjust the plan without abandoning it. A routine that leaves you able and willing to come back is more useful than one demanding session followed by another long pause.
