The Tasks You Cannot See Can Still Leave Someone Exhausted
The washing is done, but someone also noticed it needed doing, bought detergent and remembered tomorrow's uniform. When planning sits mostly with one person, “Just tell me what to do” may not feel like relief. That invisible work can affect the energy left for closeness.
Talk about the whole job
Choose a few recurring tasks and identify who notices, plans and finishes them. Listen without immediately debating each example. Taking responsibility can mean owning a task from beginning to end rather than waiting for instructions.
Keep fairness separate from sex
A more balanced load matters on its own. It does not buy intimacy or guarantee more desire. Make changes because the shared life needs to work for both people, then leave space to discuss affection and connection without treating them as a reward.
