When Scrolling Takes the Last Hour of Your Evening
You sit beside each other, both on your phones, and look up to find that it is time for bed. Nothing terrible happened, but you miss the evening you thought you would share. A small agreement can help you choose that time more deliberately.
Pick one window to protect
Try putting phones aside during dinner or for a short period before bed. Make the agreement mutual and allow for genuine responsibilities. You do not need to ban screens for the whole night to create a little room for attention.
Have something inviting to do
Talk, listen to music or sit together without filling every silence. Avoid turning phone use into evidence that your partner does not care. If it is a recurring source of hurt, discuss what you are missing rather than simply counting minutes on a screen.
