Blood Pressure and Sexual Health Belong in the Same Conversation

FORTION JOURNAL · CLINICAL CONTEXT

You attend a blood-pressure review but leave without mentioning erection changes. It may seem like a separate subject. In fact, your clinician needs to know about both your symptoms and treatment experience to look at the full picture.

Put the concern on the agenda

Say whether the change began before or after a medicine adjustment and whether it keeps happening. High blood pressure and some medicines can be associated with erection difficulties, but you cannot determine the cause from timing alone.

Ask about safe options

Do not stop blood-pressure treatment or add an erection medicine without advice. Bring your complete medicine list, including heart medicines and supplements. There may be ways to address the concern while continuing to protect your wider health.
